The Australian Government has announced that the introduction of the new Support at Home program and the new Aged Care Act, originally set to begin on 1 July 2025, has now been delayed to 1 November 2025.
Why the delay?
Following strong feedback from aged care providers and advocacy groups, the Government has decided to extend the timeline. This gives everyone more time to prepare for the changes and ensure that older Australians are supported every step of the way.
What does this mean for you?
The good news is that nothing changes right now. Your care and services with Ozcare will continue as usual. There’s no need to take any action at this stage.
We’re still here for you, every day with real care and real people. We’ll continue to support you through a variety of programs and funding types, including the existing Home Care Packages (HCP) Program.
No matter your funding pathway, our goal is the same: to help you live safely, independently, and confidently at home.
What happens next?
We’ll continue monitoring the Government’s updates on Support at Home and will share any changes with you as soon as they’re confirmed.
