If you’ve ever considered a career in aged care, a school-based apprenticeship could be just the pathway to set you up for a meaningful and rewarding career in the sector.
Pictured above with Tanya McCulkin, Facility Manager at our Toowoomba Aged Care Facility, are Ella Goulding and Lilly Earl-Jones, both of whom have successfully completed their Certificate III in Individual Support.
Ella and Lilly are employed as Care Assistants and are due to complete Year 12 at the end of this year. Both young women have indicated they would love to stay on at Ozcare which is fabulous news, and we’re excited to see where their careers take them. Our sincere congratulations to Ella and Lilly on their achievements to date and on gaining their Certificate III in Individual Support which will stand them in great stead for their chosen career paths.
The school-based apprenticeship program showcases a wonderful partnership between Ozcare, Ella & Lilly, their families, St Ursula’s College and the Diocese of Toowoomba Catholic Schools office. We thank everyone who was involved for their active support and participation in making this such a success for everyone.
The program is a fantastic way to consolidate career pathways into the Aged Care sector and we encourage you to speak to your School or College if you’re interested in becoming involved in a similar apprenticeship. For Ozcare, the program has been so successful that we will be welcoming two new students who will commence with us next year and we can’t wait to welcome them to the wonderful world of aged care.
