In a remarkable turn of events, three residents of Ozcare’s Magdalene Villa Aged Care facility in Trebonne celebrated their respective 100th, 101st, and 102nd birthdays on the same day.
Henry 100, Giuseppina “Joyce” 101, and Elsa 102, each of Italian heritage, share that hard work and remaining active are keys to a long and happy life.
All three centenarians have led particularly active lives. They were raised on farms and worked the land, planting sugar cane by hand before the benefit of modern technology.
Henry and Joyce were both born in Macknade, home to the oldest raw sugar mill in Queensland, and Elsa immigrated to Halifax, also in the Hinchinbrook Shire, when she was 10 years old.
The entire Ozcare team wishes our incredible centenarians every possible happiness on their special day. It really is our honour to be able to celebrate this extraordinary milestone event with you, and we thank you sincerely for allowing us to share a small part of your story.
